Downgrade your sync client on Mac, Windows or Linux

Occasionally it happens that a new version of the sync client does not work as expected, in which case it might be necessary to downgrade to another version.

  1. Uninstall your current Nextcloud sync client.
  2. Go to the Nextcloud client release page: https://github.com/nextcloud-releases/desktop/releases
  3. Click on the “Assets” of the version you want to install and download the package that fits your operating system
  4. On Windows, this usually is an .msi file. E.g. Nextcloud-3.13.4-x64.msi
  5. On Windows, this usually is a .pkg file. E.g., Nextcloud-3.13.4.pkg
  6. On Linux, this usually is an .AppImage file. E.g., Nextcloud-3.13.4-x86_64.AppImage
  7. Install the version you just downloaded.
  8. When the application starts and asks you to update, select “Skip this version” to prevent the sync client to update to the most recent version.
