eduID for external collaborators¶
If you have external collaborators that do not have an account within the SWAMID identity federation, you can ask them to create an account with eduID. The eduID account can then be used with a variety of services, including Sunet Drive. From Sunet Drive’s perspective, an eduID account is considered an external account which can log on to Sunet Drive, but does not have any storage. But they can still be invited to collaborate with any member of Sunet Drive. With an eduID account it is even possible to easily add two factor authentication (TFA).

EduID creates a unique ID for you (eppn, or eduPersonPrincipalName), that is usually composed of two words with a dash. This is the name under which you find your collaborators. Within eduID, this can be found in your profile under Advanced Settings.

Within Sunet Drive, you can type in the name or eppn to find the collaborator.
