Customer Portal¶
The Customer Portal is the self-service entry point for Sunet Cloud. It lets your team manage the things tied to your agreement with Sunet without filing a ticket for every change: OpenStack projects, tenant Kubernetes clusters, cluster credentials, and scheduled billing exports.
The portal lives at portal.sunetvdc.se.
Signing in¶
The portal uses your federated identity for single sign-on. On the sign-in page, choose Continue with SWAMID and authenticate with your home organization.
You don't register a separate portal account. Access is granted to your federated identity by an administrator, so the first time you sign in you may see no contracts yet. If that happens, ask your contract administrator (or Sunet) to grant your identity access.
Your identifier is not necessarily an email address
The portal identifies you by the subject from your federated login. For some identity providers this looks like an email address and for others it does not. When you add other people (project members, cluster users), use the exact federated identifier they sign in with, not whatever email you happen to know them by.
How it fits together¶
Everything in the portal hangs off a few concepts:
- Customer: your organization. Created by Sunet when you become a customer.
- Contract: an agreement under a customer. A customer can have more than one contract. The contract is the unit that billing rolls up to.
- Project: an OpenStack project (tenancy with its own quotas) that belongs to exactly one contract.
- Cluster: a managed (tenant) Kubernetes cluster that belongs to one contract.
You always start from a contract and work down to the projects and clusters under it.
What you can do¶
- Manage OpenStack projects: create projects under a contract, set quotas, and control who can access them.
- Work with tenant clusters: see your clusters, issue and rotate kubeconfig credentials, request changes, and manage cluster users.
- Schedule billing exports: deliver monthly usage CSVs to your finance system over WebDAV or email, or run a one-off export.
Navigation and roles¶
The top bar has My Contracts and Billing. What you can do within a contract depends on the access you have been granted:
- Most members can view a contract and manage the projects and clusters they have access to.
- A customer admin can additionally manage cluster users and request cluster changes (resize, add-ons, backup) on behalf of the organization.
Sunet operators have an extra Admin area; that side is not covered here.
Pricing¶
The portal never shows prices. For current, authoritative rates, see the official Sunet VDC price list.
