Increase the WebDAV file size limit to 4GB on Windows

On some Windows computers, it might not be possible to write/copy files larger than 50MB to a folder in Sunet Drive connected through WebDAV.

Note: The following instructions modify the Windows Registry and require administrative access to the machine. Entering the wrong values into the Windows Registry might render your computer unusable. If you are unsure about this contact your local IT support.

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit and click “Ok”.
  2. Locate “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters” from the drop-down structure in left pane.
  3. Right click on the “FileSizeLimitInBytes” subkey listed in the right pane, then click “Modify”.\ 4) Click the “Decimal” bubble under the “Base” section.
  4. In the “Value data” box, type 4294967295, and then click “Ok”.
  5. Reboot your computer.

After executing these steps, you should be able to write/copy files up to 4GB to Sunet Drive connected via WebDAV. For larger files, it is necessary to use the Nextcloud sync client and synchronize the files locally.
